Published Sens?!
Hey there!
I just published my latest game Sens? You can check it out over at:
Sir Realism, Kongregate or Newgrounds
Sens? Is a story driven platformer based around 4 different senses. In 4 different dreams you get to explore these 4 senses separately. Each sense allows for a new way of navigating yourself through the pitch black darkness.
Cheers,
Maxim

Renaming MagnoB into NagnoB
I’ve had some critique that I shouldn’t mention Mario in my game. So I’ve decided to rename “Mario ain’t got nuffin’ on Björn” into: “No one ain’t got nuffin’ on Björn”.

Value got stolen
So yeah, some dude stole Value, then he screwed up the font, sound and framspeed and posted it on Kongregate: Gold Thirsty (what a shitty name)
If you found this blog through this game, then please go back and tell him he’s an ass. If not, well…You can still go and call him an ass :D
I’m not really that upset about the fact that he stole it, but more that he made it fricking...

The album Food and Maxims
Hey there,
I keep posting about these songs for my new ‘album’ called food. So I thought I’d explain what it’s basically about. It’s a collect of songs (like any other album) of which every song is about a different kind of food (or drinks…oh well). The downside, thought, is that I amn’t really that good at writing music (…yet!) so this is more of a...

A mini rant about 'addictive' games
Hey there,
Here’s another small rant. Why does everyone love addictive games? Why is it good for a game to be addictive? Very often you see people commenting on a game saying: “addictive”, just that, just the word ‘addictive’ and somehow that’s supposed to be a good thing. ‘Addictive’ comes from the word ‘addiction’ and in any other...

Jordan Magnuson's Gametrekking project
Hi there,
I just came across this really awesome dude, doing a really awesome project. His name is Jordan Magnuson and he’s going to do Gametrekking. Gamewhatting? Gametrekking, he’s going to travel around the world (or at least Asia) and make games about what he experiences.
Is that ridiculous? No it’s not! It’s awesome! Don’t believe me? Maybe you should play some...

Published Value
I just published Value! :D
I was sick and tired of waiting for never to come sponsors (it was pretty daft to even hope for them, considering the artsy fartsy nature of my game xD)
Anyways, here it is, on kongregate: http://www.kongregate.com/games/MaximSchoemaker/value

A mini rant about favicons
You all know them, the favicons. They are the little pictures next to a pages web address, to show what website you’re looking at. These things are really cool and actually very handy too. When you drag a web address to your internet quick launch bar (the bar at the top of the screen), the favicon will be placed there with a text next to it, describing were the link goes to. If you take away...

Memory Cells
Hi There!
This is the second tutorial on The art of logic. In this tutorial I will explain about memory cells.
A memory cell is a device with 2 inputs (and 2 outputs). When the cell get’s an input from either of the inputs it will remember that it got that specific input, until he gets an input form the other one. You can see the two inputs as having a ‘set’ and...

Logic Ports!
Okay, here’s the first tutorial about The art of logic. Today’s topic is: logic ports. =D
If you want to do anything interesting in taol you’ll need logic ports. A logic port is thing that takes 2 inputs and gives 1 output based on these inputs. The most simple port is the ‘or’ port. The or port gives power when either or both of it’s inputs are...

The art of logic
The art of logic is a new project I’m working on. The idea is that it gives you the possibility to combine art and programming (logic). The program itself only simulates your circuit, and the circuit itself can be drawn in any graphical editor you like.
A more indept explanation can be found on the devlog I just created over at TIGSource: devlog ^^
On my blog I will be writing some...

A mini rant about folders
As I am interested in indie games I often play small downloadable games. These games usually do not require installation and are just a bunch of files with a .exe (or something similar). Often these downloads are stored in rawrs (or zips, etc). When opening the rawr you sometimes find a folder with the games name. At other times you just find all the files dumped in there. This is something I...

Hi there!
So yeah, I finished this new art game about 2 days ago and now I’m trying to ‘sell’ it. I’ve sent an email to Armor Games (well, one of those, type in this box if you have a question thingy) and I’m still waiting for their reply. If that doesn’t work out I suppose I’ll put my game on Flash Game License, which looks like a pretty awesome...

My indie family tree
If I were an indie child this is what my family would have looked like:
Sophie Houldon would be my mother, she would always push me to persue my dreams of becoming an indie game dev.
Notch would be me father, he would have an answer to any question you ask, cause he’s a genius.
Aliceffekt would be my older brother, he would be really arty and he would not be very close, except for when...

My new avatar
Hi ^^
I’m trying to start a new kind of image. The past couple of years I’ve gone under the name of ‘Igorness’, which is something I’ve started to hate. The whole pseudonym thing is something a lot of people do on the internet, but I decided I have no reason to hide myself behind a fake name. Also I kinda like my name ^^
Anyways, with a new image comes a new avatar....

Hello World!
Hi there!
I asked myself, what is the cheesiest way to begin a blog as a programmer? And here you see the answer: Hello World!
That aside, welcome to my new blog. My name is Maxim Schoemaker and I’m an indie game developer. Mostly I do programming but recently I have started trying to become a bit more versatile. When I do not make my own art I work together with my friend Ingmar uit de...
